Nick Mammola is the Co-Founder and COO of Tentacle LLC, a Boston based marketing, financial & business advisory firm assisting lower middle market companies www.tentacle360.com and a principal in Tentacle Capital, a niche business services and investment platform focused on start-up and early stage ventures www.tentaclecapital.com. Tentacle provides performance improvement advisory services, data driven revenue building strategies and campaign execution as well financial management advisory and governance services to clients on behalf of their equity sponsors.
Nick is a highly experienced corporate financial and operating executive as well as being a start-up founder, entrepreneur, and business advisor with a career track record of building, financing, and scaling high growth B2B and B2C consumer and marketing centric companies. Nick has held several C-suite roles in a variety of companies and has served as a board member of public, private and private equity & venture backed businesses. Nick started his career at Laventhol & Horwath, CPA an international public accounting firm in the audit and business advisory practice areas. Nick served as the principal operating and financial executive at Papa Gino’s, Inc, where during his tenure he helped the family-owned company achieve four-fold growth as New England’s largest multi-unit restaurant chain with over 200+ units and then led the sale to a private equity group including Berkshire Partners, a leading Boston based private equity firm. He then managed the go-forward expansion and the subsequent IPO effort on behalf of the investor group ownership.
Nick served as a director, CFO, COO and Executive Committee Chairman of Cyrk, Inc. (NASDAQ:CYRK), a $1B global provider of promotional and loyalty marketing programs for Fortune 50 brands. Nick led several public offerings, managed all investor relations, SEC filings and corporate legal affairs. Nick spearheaded the company’s go-private transaction with Yucaipa, a west coast private equity firm founded by Billionaire Ron Burkle.
In 2003, Nick co-founded Stoneacre Partners LLC and secured the exclusive world-wide license from NASCAR to create, launch and operate NASCAR Racepoints, a B2B2C coalition loyalty program for NASCAR official sponsors and the Official NASCAR Members Club, a fan based B2C subscription affinity membership program. The venture was backed by Bain Capital Ventures and high profile HNW investors & family offices from the technology, entertainment, and sports world. Nick served as a board member, COO, CFO and led the exit to a Virginia based boutique private equity firm.
Over the past twenty years, Nick has been active in the early stage and emerging growth space. Nick formed Kingside Partners LLC (‘Kingside”) www.kingsidepartners.com , a Boston based growth and performance management services firm focused on start-ups, early stage, and lower middle market businesses. Kingside holds the equity interests in Tentacle and Stoneacre2.0, www.stoneacreaffinity.com a Boston, MA and Charlotte, NC based loyalty and affinity marketing program provider of customized, branded loyalty and affinity programs to high affinity consumer brands. Stoneacre is currently or has worked with Hockey East, the NCAA’s leading hockey conference, USA Hockey, the national amateur governing body as well as American Rugby Sevens, a start-up professional league and Angie’s List. Stoneacre2.0 is a restart of Stoneacre Partners LLC.
Nick has served on the Board of Overseers of Lasell College, Newton, MA and is a member of the Boston chapter of the Association of Corporate Growth. Nick received his B.S from Boston College and an MBA from Suffolk University.
